
SoCal Scullers finish final day of racing at Olympic Trials

Two SoCal Scullers athletes competed in the final day of racing at Olympic Trials at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida.
Stesha Carle and Kelly Pierce lined up in lanes 3 and 4, respectively, joining Vesper Boat Club's Lindsay Meyer and Cambridge Boat Club's Genevra Stone for the final in the women's single scull.
Stone led the pack down the course with an aggressive start at the beginning of the 9:45 a.m. race, while Carle followed close behind. A breeze described by officials as "a whisper of a headwind" picked up mid-way through the race.
Carle crossed the finish line at 7:58.89, just 7.32 seconds behind Stone's winning time of 7:51.57.
Meyer finished third at 8:06.71, followed by Pierce in fourth at 8:14.72.
